Chief Alexander Mwolwus, Plateau PDP Chieftain, on Thursday tasked the APC led Government on checkmating the increasing insecurity, unemployment and corruption in the country in its second tenure.
Mwolwus, who gave the charge in an interview with the newsmen in Jos, said that the government should brace up to tackle the three problems facing the nation now.
“The spread of insecurity is alarming as nobody is sure of his or her security. On this note, the government has failed.
“Only former Vice President, Alh. Abubakar Atiku of the PDP can salvage the situation if he eventually won at the tribunal.
“I will be right to say that in the four years of APC government, it failed to tackle the increasing insecurity that has brought about the killing of millions of innocent Nigerians either by insurgents, bandits or kidnappers across the country.
“It’s unfortunate that the country is witnessing a strange disease of “suicide’’ in which many have taken their own lives due the glaring poverty and social pervasion.
“unemployment is another serious cankerworm that must be tackle with urgency if the rate of suicide must be halt, ’’ the Chieftain said.
The PDP stalwart, who was Ex-Governor Jonah Jang’s, former Special Adviser (SA) on Political matters, described the Buhari led government as “very unserious’’ in tackling unemployment in spite of its promise to create three million jobs yearly.
On Corruption, the political icon, scored the APC government low since the First Lady recently cried out over the mission of N500 billion social insurance funds and another N16 billion meant for the purchase of Mosquito nets.
According to him, much was yet to be done on the fight against corruption, which is still on going in spite of the government crusade on the menace.
He decried the dearth of factories and plants in the country hence the near absence of production that could have spur up the nation’s GDP and stimulate the nation’s growth and development.
Mwolwus asserted, “Nigerians should be patient over all the problems facing the nation and await the outcome of the Election Petition Tribunal for the PDP to rescue them.’’
