Support Senator Gaya for Deputy Senate President, Arewa group urges APC

Arewa APC Solidarity Forum (AASF) a group of APC supporters from the North, has called on the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) to support Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya (APC Kano South) for the Deputy Senate President in the 9th Senate.
The Forum said this was necessary to avoid the intrigue that brought emergence of opposition party producing the Deputy Senate President in the 8th Senate.
The President of the group, Comrade Bulama Abdulrahman said it is imperative going by the dogged fight by Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya for the of release of Zainab Adamu, a student of Maitama Sule University, Kano, who was framed of carrying prohibiting drug by the Saudi Arabia authorities to the Saudi Arabia.
Comrade Bulama said efforts of the former Kano state governor in the release of Zainab from the Arabian authorities is indeed a lofty achievement that needs to be carried to the national front for the benefit of all Nigerians.
He said that Gaya’s fight justice was not for only Zainab but another Ibrahim Abubakar, a 75 year-old Nigerian who also framed like Zainab.
He state that Senator Gaya personally investigate and discover that the duo of Zainab and Abubakar were innocent of the offence.
Bulama said that six persons have been arrested and being prosecuted because of Senator Gaya’s effort at righting the wrongs of some people.
He further said that it was time for people who have the interest of the country at heart to be given the opportunity for true service to the people.
The AASF president also said the senator’s effort needs compensation and encouragement hence the call for his deputy Senate presidency to be supported by all well meaning Nigerians.
