African leading hospitality group, Sun International, has further strengthened its partnership with it Nigerian travel trade partners as it fetes them with awards in recognition of their outstanding performance to the growth of the brand across the continent.
The Sun International, owners of brand operations that include resorts, luxury hotel products, and casinos, across 20 destinations in 4 African countries took the loyal partners around in a lifestyle cruise event along the Lagos waterways.
The company described the award for the top and loyal travel agents who have been selling the company brand for the 2018 as an event worthy of celebration.
Didier Bayeye, Sun International Market Manager, West Africa & Indian Ocean, explained that the second edition of the annual Sun International awards is to continuously appreciate the outstanding effort and doggedness of the Nigeria travel trade who have prioritise the selling of Sun International properties to Nigerian travellers.
Travel agencies who scooped the top awards include Diamonds and Pearls Travels and Tours, Afro Tourism and Njetours emerging the ‘Top Achiever award’ winners while 1860 travels and Apeiron Global received the Loyalty Award.
“Our Nigerian travel trade partners are outstanding supporters of brand Sun International who despite the many competition in the South African hospitality industry show wholesome commitment to our brand,” Bayeye affirmed.
Furthermore he reiterated that “From the Maslow in Johannesburg, Table Bay in Cape Town, Time Square in Pretoria to Sun City and indeed all other Sun International properties across South Africa received a quality number of Nigerian visitors in 2018 orchestrated by our Nigeria trade partners.”
Highlights of the cruise were the out pouring of encomiums on Sun International in which Juliet Ibrahim, a celebrity movie star and brand influencer narrated her beautiful vacation with her son in South Africa where she experienced the Sun International Time Square, The Maslow and Sun City exquisite properties.
The delectable actress also used the opportunity to announce her special birthday getaway travel package billed for South Africa from 28thFebruary to 6th March this year which is supported by Sun International, South African Airways and South African Tourism
Also, Wonuola Lamidi, Co-founder Diamond and Pearls Travels appreciated the recognition as a Top Achiever by Sun International and promised to continue selling the brand as their customers were excited and happy at all the Sun International properties visited in the past.
Among personalities that grace the event are Ohis Ehimiaghe, South African Airways Regional Manager, North, West and Central Africa and Thekiso Rakolojane, the new South African Tourism Regional Manager, West Africa based in Lagos.
