Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Sa’ad III has said that, challenges bedeviling the country require commitment and proactive steps to address them.
This is just as he said, the challenges have been in the increase because necessary steps and commitment to implement solutions identified are not taken.
The Sultan stated this in Kaduna on Monday in his address at the opening session of the JNI Central Council Meeting and Annual Pre-Ramadan Conference.
The Pre- Ramadan conference is on the Islamic Solutions to the menance of poverty, insecurity and thenunflunec of drug abuse in the Muslim Society.
“The challenges bedeviling the country require commitment and proactive steps to address them.
“These challenges have unfortunately been on the increase because necessary steps and commitment to implement solutions identified are not taken.” He said.
According to the Sultan, the meetings will discuss series of issues affecting the Muslim Ummah and some national issues affecting the society and the way forward.
While requesting for prayers for the departed in the country, he admonished that death is inevitable for all and sundry, adding that groupwhat matters is the life we live here on earth as all will be accountable someday to God.
“As human, we cannot run away from death but our activities here on earth is what will stand for us on the day of judgement” he stressed.
The meeting which went into closed doors with who is who in the Islamic sector is expected to come out with a communiqué on resolutions arrived at, the Sultan disclosed.
