Kano state Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has called on the Federal government to urgently address the killing of innocent people by insurgents in the North eastern region of the country.
Kwankwaso, made the call when the Air Officer Commanding, Training Command, Nigeria
Air Force, Kaduna, Air Vice Marshall, Salihu Sallau Bala Riba paid him a courtesy visit at Government House on Thursday.
He stressed that the gruesome attack on the people do not augur well for national unity and development.
A statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Relations to the Governor, quoted him as saying, “Those killed, especially the youth had the potential to become soldiers, governors and even president of this country. It was possible for these innocent people to become everything in life and contribute to nation building. Yet they were killed aimlessly. This is very disheartening and must stop”.
He said it was sad that the insurgents do not spear anybody whether the army, police, politicians or clergy, saying every innocent person is their victim.
The governor, therefore, appealed to the federal government and security agencies to beef up efforts in protecting lives and properties of the citizens in the interest of peace and sustainable national development.
Earlier, AVM Salihu Sallau Bala told the governor that he was in the state for familiarization visit to the units under his Kaduna, assuring that his men would work hand in hand with the state government in order to make thestate more secured.
