From Osakhare Erese, Asaba

The Commissioner representing the people Ughelli South, Udu and Urhobos in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon. Chief Amos Itihwe, has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC), to steer clear of Delta.
He said that Delta State is a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) state, adding that in view of this reality, the APC should steer clear or risk being handed down the worst defeat in the history of electioneering.
Itihwe, who is also the aspirants for Ughelli/Udu Federal constituency on the platform of PDP, stated this at Isiokolo, headquartewrs of Ehtiope East Local Government Area of the state in reaction to the just concluded Ekiti State election.
The DESOPADEC commissioner warned that APC should, forthwith, steer clear of Delta State as Delta remained a People’s Democratic party (PDP) state, insisting that if the thought what played out in Ekiti would repeat itself, a shocker awaited them (APC).
Itihwe hinted that if they think what played out in Ekiti State where he alleged that they falsified election results would also play out here (Delta State), they (APC) were in for an uncomfortable ride, insisting that such would not play out in Delta.
“I also use this medium to call on the judiciary which is the last hope of the common man to be courageous in discharging their duties, and as it is now, it is the judiciary would help us reclaim out stolen mandate. They (Judiciary) should discharge their duties without fear or favour for the betterment of the nation”.
The DESOPADEC commissioner also challenged delegates to shun money bag politics and vote for a credible candidates in the forthcoming PDP primaries, warning that “if you vote for people in monetary line, it will affect the constituency negatively, which is why it is better to avoid money bags and vote for the right persons who can develop the constituency”.
The Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency House of Representatives hopeful, however, called on the people of the constituency and the state at large to continue to support Governor Okowa led-administration and vote massively for him in 2019.
While calling on PDP members in Delta State to be steadfast and remain committed to the party (PDP), Chief Itihwe advised members not to be intimidated by Mr. Adams Oshiomhole’s statement that APC will take over Delta.
According to him, “Oshiomhole is not from Delta State and I assure you such intimidation can’t work in Delta, because Delta State is not Ekiti State where results are allegedly being falsified”.
