Sokoto: Group endorses Wamakko for second term in Senate

A group, Sokoto Central Development Organisation, has endorsed the Senator representing Sokoto Central Senatorial zone of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for another term.
The group said the decision was harped on the Senator’s sterling performance and his responsiveness to the yearnings of his constituents.
Leader of the group, Alhaji Shehu Budah Gidadawa disclosed in Sokoto on Tuesday at the end of a meeting with the group’s coordinators.
He explained that the coordinators were drawn from seven local government councils of the senatorial zone that include Binji, Wamakko, Silame, Gudu, Kware, Sokoto North and Sokoto South, with a zonal coordinators.
Gidadawa said the group at the meeting hailed the Senator for his onerous delivery of the dividends of democracy across the senatorial zone.
“At the meeting with our Local Government coordinators and a zonal coordinator. We praised Distiguished Senator, Alhaji (Dr.) Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for not only ensuring a robust and qualitative representation at the Federal level but also cementing democratic representation among other legislators from the state.
“We as constituents have seen and believed in the good works of Senator Wamakko and we have come out today to officially and publicly endorsed him for anither term come 2019 as compensation for his good work in the State.
“Our Senator has been a focused, committed, resilient leader. In fact, he has shown consistent leadership style since his inception in the National Assembly. We are so pleased with his display of great sense of courage, steadfastness and tenacity of purpose.” Gidadawa affirmed.
He advised residents of the senatorial district to register in the on-going voters registration exercise across the state, organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enable them exercise their franchise.
Gidadawa also said the group would continued to partner with media organisations in the state, as to promote the senator’s sterling achievements.
