Six -year old girl kidnapped in Abraka Community freed in Benin City

Miss Courage Ejirokpor a six year old girl in Abraka Community in Delta State, Who was reported kidnapped was at the weekend released by her abductors after spending six days in their custody. Sources said that Courage was taken to Adesuwa Police station in Benin City Edo State by a lady who saw her roaming the streets of Benin City
It was gathered that Courage at the police station told the police how she was kidnapped from Abraka Community and dumped in Benin City, adding that she could not find her way home as she was roaming the streets of Benin City when the Lady took her to them.
But confirming the incident, the police Commissioner in Edo State, Mr Babatunde Johnson Kokumo on the telephone said that” The Parents of Courage were contacted through Abraka Police Division, and they were in Benin City on Friday and I told them they can’t take Courage back because the matter at present involved two states and they were asked to return on Tuesday as the police would have completed the whole process”
Kokumo disclosed that the police were on the trail of the kidnappers adding that the police will do everything possible to arrest and bring them to book no matter where they operate and those behind them
Some residents of Abraka Community including the father of Courage, Mr Nworie said” Abraka Community is at present not safe.It appears that the town is not safe for children anymore. We cannot lock our children in doors again. The local vigilantes need to step up their activities because we cannot understand what is going on and how the Kidnappers went away with my child up until now I cannot say. Although I reported to the police initially, but I was careful not to involve them so that my daughter will not be hurt by the kidnappers because they were monitoring us and had spices everywhere”
Also speaking, the Delta State Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya confirmed that the police were working harder to ensure that those behind the kidnapping of the six years old girl Courage are brought to arrest, adding that the police will do everything possible to arrest the hoodlums who she described as mascurading kidnappers.
DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya also confirmed that two suspected robbers were at the weekend set ablaze for raping a pregnant woman in Okogborode in Okpe local government area by angry mob
DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya said that the two suspects were members of a four man gang that allegedly raped a pregnant woman at night at the Holy ghost Domino Bible Church axis of Ugborodo, adding that they were caught while trying to escape and tried to plead with the mob that fell on deaf ears.
