New national U-23 coach, Samson Siasia on Monday submitted his training programme to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Siasia was last week appointed by the NFF board to spearhead raising a new U-23 team specifically for the football event of the All Africa Games holding September next year in the Republic of Congo and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.
The former Super Eagles coach told reporters last night that the meeting with NFF officials centered on his camping plan. Siasia said that he would be seeking the cooperation of local clubs as he intended to open his camp very soon with home-based players.
The former Nantes of France striker said that he would accord priority to the home-based players considering the stumbling block that is usually placed before teams in releasing foreign-based players for the All Africa Games which is not in FIFA coordinated calendar.
He disclosed that he expects camping to start in earnest as the U-23 team’s first assignment is due to commence early next year.
