Shun politicians with no humanity, says Imam Ashafa

Islamic cleric, Imam Dr Mohammed Nurayyni Ashafa has urged Nigerians to shun politicians with no humanity this election period, just as he called on people of Tafawa Balewa to resolve long standing conflicts through forgiveness of one another Imam Ashafa made the urge in an interview with newsmen at the end of the two days workshop on peace building , conflict and mediation process to people of Tafawa Balewa Local Government in Dass Local Government of Bauchi state, organized by the Interfaith Mediation Center Kaduna , supported by the German Embassy.

Mohammed Ashafa who is also the Core- Executive Director of the IMC Kaduna called on Nigerians to be wary or shun all politicians with intimidation, lack of ethics ,lack of humanity this election period , “We should shun all those politicians that belongs to these groups, they have commit many blunders for the country “he said.

Imam Ashafa appealed to politicians to lead exemplary live as according to him, “as politicians at the Federal, state and local government you have no other nation than Nigeria whatever you do today is written on the platter of gold that the world would see about you.”

On the persistent conflict in Tafawa Balewa local government, Imam Mohammed said, the conflict in Tafawa has caused much damage in the area, adding that that is the more reason IMC want to see to the resolution of the conflict.

He said forgiveness should be the watchword of the people; people should forget the past and tolerate one another as this will help people in the community resolve long-standing conflicts and to build deeper understanding of contentious issues.

He said coming together to dialogue between the different religion and ethnics groups is not about judging, weighing, or making decisions, but about understanding and learning.
