Ahead of the 2019 elections, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Wednesday called on Nigerians to shun divisive tendencies and promote values that will unite Nigerians as one family.
Okowa who spoke to newsmen in Orerokpe, particularly advised politicians to play the game maturely to ensure that lives and properties are not wasted on the altar of political expediency.
The Governor who also appealed to Deltans to support good governance, Called on various local governments to ensure peaceful coexistence as the only means to entrench nascent democracy, adding that” Nigerians expect that we will have free and fair national elections in February and March 2019 and the security agencies and INEC are expected to play by the rules so that we can have a country where democracy can grow,”
Okowa however, thanked Deltans for their cooperation and partnership adding” in the past three years plus it has been eventful, I must thank Deltans for looking back at the Successes we have jointly archived and recorded all these years”.
Meanwhile, the people Democratic party (PDP) in Oshimili South has vowed to deliver more than 120,000 votes for the state Governor,Dr ifeanyi Okowa and all PDP Candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Consequently, the chairman of PDP campaign Council in the area,Chief Edwin Uzor who spoke to newsmen explained that the party had commenced a state wide campaign to mobilize Supports for all the Candidates and PDP in Oshimili South local government area must commence units.
Chief Uzor said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had done well in terms of appointments and infrastructural development in the local government area party faithful must work for the victory of the party and the governor because they had benefited a lot from the administration and the party.
