Shettima: Yobe APC warns PDP against overheating polity

Shettima govFrom Uche Uche, Damaturu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Yobe state chapter has raised the alarm over a rumours that the former Borno state governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who recently decamped into the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has perfected plans to impeach the current Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima and and deliver Yobe to his new party in 2015.

The state secretary of APC, Yobe State, Alhaji Abubakar S. Bakabe, raised the alerm in a press release he signed and made available to our reporter in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe state.

He described the claim as wild, misleading and demonstration of moral bankruptcy, warning however that if the claim is intended to achieve any political relevance, surely Yobe state is the wrong place to lay such a claim.

He also described the rumour as insulting on the psyche of Yobe state and its people for a total

stranger with no political connection whatsoever with the state to contemplate determining the course of their political leadership and direction in the coming 2015 general elections.

He stressed that for over 15 years of PDP administration, Yobe state has suffered serious neglect in terms of infrastructure and the APC government of Governor Ibrahim Gaidam has remained at the mercy of the state’s lean resources to meet the demands of her people.

He therefore used the medium to draw the attention of the Presidency and PDP respectively to what he described as overheating the polity and creating unnecessary political instability by any individual or group of persons.

He therefore advised those he called political trespassers with the intention of orchestrating political instability in Yobe to exercise restraint as the party in the state pledges unalloyed support, loyalty and commitment to deliver Yobe state to APC in 2015 by Allah’s grace.
