Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim will tomorrow open the first Abuja automotive road transport exhibition.
This was disclosed by the Driver’s Welfare Club of Nigeria in a statement issued yesterday by its President, Comrade Monday Elimigbe, said the event which is in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Commission and the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Ethics and Values will feature stakeholders in the automotive and transport sector.
It said several papers have been lined up for presentation at the five-day event by eminent scholars and transportation specialists including the Special Adviser to the President on Ethics and Values who will speak on driving ethics and the need to respect safety measures on the highways.
The statement added that eminent transporters, transport union actors and other contributors to the development of the sector have been lined-up for a prestigious merit award to honour them for their contributions.
The president also said that the seminar was planned to key into the present administration’s transformation agenda for the transport sector and to help enlighten drivers on how defensive driving can avert road accidents on the nation’s highways especially during the current festive season.
