As part of efforts to ameliorate the hardship confronting some displaced Tiv communities currently taking refuge in Lafia, Doma, Awe, Obi and Agwatashi respectfully, Senator representing Nasarawa South at the National Assembly Sulaiman Adokwe has donated food items to Tiv displaced persons.
Presenting the food items to the IDPs, Senator Adokwe admonished them to cultivate the spirit of forgiveness as according to him “It is normal in human history.”
According to him, “ It is normal in life. No matter how united you are. There will be always internal betrayer. It happened to the Jews.
It is not something to be bitter about. Look on to God.”
“I urged you to remain focus. Unite yourselves with other communities around you. Feel free with your neighbours,” He added.
The senator who further commended spirited individuals for accommodating the Tiv communities especially the Alago and other tribes as according to him “This is how neighbourliness should be.
“Tiv, Alago, Eggon and Koro lived together over two hundred years. I urged you all from the zone to continue with the gesture,” Adokwe added.
The senator, however, appealed to wealthy individuals, NGO’s and international Donors to come to the aid of Tiv displaced persons in Nasarawa state as according to him “Their situation is sympathetic.”

Mr. Thomas Gaar who is the president Mzough Tiv Nasarawa branch, said the gesture extended to them would go a long way to minimize the hunger as well as advised well-meaning individuals and NGO’s to emulate the gesture.
