Senate Deputy Whip, Francis Alimikhena, a former member of House of Representatives, Patrick Obahiagbon and Edo State Commissioner for Finance, John Inegbedion have picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination to contest the 2019 general elections.
Alimikhena was given the clean bill of health to contest Edo North Senatorial District seat for second term in the polls.
Chairperson of the party’s Primary Electoral Committee for Edo State Hajia Farida Odangi, said Alimikhena was returned unopposed in the primaries held on Saturday.
She also announced Patrick Obahiagbon and John Inegbedion as Edo South and Edo Central Senatorial flag bearer of the party respectively.
Odangi said Obayagbon polled 90,140 votes to defeat the first runner up, Fred Erabor to a distant second.
She further said John Inegbedion polled 27,293 votes to defeat Patrick Ikhariale who scored 3,739.
Others who picked the party’s ticket are: Osaigbovo Iyoha (Oredo Federal Constituency), Denis Idahosa (Ovia Federal Costituency), and E. J Agbonayinma (Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency.
The electoral committee chair however suspended results for Akoko-Edo Federal constituency over “the violent that rock the exercise, pending the outcome of investigative panel”.
She said results for the State House of Assembly primaries “will be
pasted on the State APC notice board in due cause..
