The immediate past Governor of Kwara State and a Senator, representing Kwara Central, Dr. Bukola Saraki has described the death of Mrs Funmilayo Adebayo, a former first lady and wife of Cornelius Adebayo,former Civilian Governor of the state and Minister, as a sad loss to Kwara and her entire family.
Adebayo’s wife has been sick for some years and was flown abroad for medical treatment.
Saraki, while speaking through his media aide Bamikole Omishore, said ” this is indeed a sad development for us all, I can only imagine the void that her passing away will create for her husband, the children and the entire family”
The former governor and Senate Chairman on Ecology and Environment said further that Kwara has lost a virtuous and hard-working woman who supported her husband to achieve greatness as a profound politician, nationalist and a teacher.
According the statement, the Senator prayed for the repose of the deceased and called for prayers for the family.
“On behalf of the good people of Kwara State, and my humble self, I express our heartfelt condolences to you and the family. We share in your grief and I join you personally in prayers and thoughts as you go through this difficult time of mourning”.
