From Uche Nnorom, Makurdi

Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade. Abba Moro has urged his constituents to refrain from falsehood and propaganda and focus on developmental issues.
Comrade Moro gave this advice yesterday at Leach Hotel, Otukpo local government area during the first Town Hall meeting tagged Interfacing with Constituents For Better Representation.
He particularly frowned at the manner certain persons misinterpreted his outcry on the floor of the Senate over the outbreak of a strange disease in Obi local government area to suggest that he sad that Coronvirus is in Benue State.
“I drew the attention of the Federal Government to the outbreak of the disease for Health experts to be deployed to find solution but was shocked that certain persons went to the Internet to suggest that I said it was Coronvirus. Such act has effect on the integrity of individuals and even damage society.
“I have promised to situate the people effectively on the floor of the Senate and nothing will determine me. Since I went to the Senate, there had been two bills, one on Hate speech that has passed through first reading and the Promotion against Falsehood and Internet Manipulation.
“I rendered my opinion because I have been a victim of Internet fraud as my bank account has been hacked and over three (3) million cumulatively taken away. I have written more than 3 letters and reminders to tbe the Inspector General of Police but am told they are still investigating more than two(2) years after.
“We should be reminded that the All Progressives Congress, APC employed the Hate speech and propaganda to defeat the Peoples’ Democratic Party in 2015 and 2019 elections and as such, we should know the implication of their propaganda. We must get carried away by the sentiment of the moment but find a way to stop it. I will not support the hate speech because of some elements”, Moro said.
On the issue of rotational Power shift in the state to actualize an Idoma Governor in 2023, Moro said he made an attempt on a bill for power rotation but added that he will harp on Independent candidate.
“If we cannot get governorship through rotation., then we can n actualize it through independent candidacy. We should be mindful of the language
He also, assured the people that he purse vigorously the rehabilitation of the Otukpo – Enugu road as well as other roads within the Benue South District.
