Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-makura has inaugurated campaign council for All Progressives Congress (APC) for the state under the chairmanship of Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Inaugurating the council in Lafia the state capital yesterday, Governor Al-makura tasked members of the newly inaugurated campaign council to work towards success of the party in the forth coming election.
Governor Al-makura whose party campaign theme in the state is “Seeing is Believing” also advised members of the council and party supporters not to engage in campaign of calumny and character assassination but to face the people with issue based campaign.
While calling on residents of the state not to allow themselves to be deceived by politicians whose mission is to get into power and enrich themselves with state resources, Al-makura advised the electorate to be wise enough and elect credible people to lead them.
He maintained that he achieve all his campaign promises hence the slogan “Seeing is Believing which is the guiding thrust of his re-election campaign.
According to the governor his administration have executed many developmental projects across all the Local Government and Development areas and promised to do more if re-elected to continue piloting the affairs of the state.
While calling on people of the state to join hands with government and security agencies in the state to bring lasting peace in the state, he explained that his administration is evolving a plan to create more employment opportunities to the people of the state especially youths and women to reduce restiveness and poverty in the state.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated campaign council, Chairman of the council, Senator Abdullahi Adamu thanked Governor Al-makura for finding them worthy for the task, pledging that the campaign team will work rigorously to ensure the success of Governor Al-makura and other party candidates of the party in the next month’s election.
He also called on supporters of the party to rally round the council to enable it accomplish its tasks successfully, saying that the governor has done a lot for the state which according to him will make the people of the state to re-elect him.
At the inauguration, Governor Al-makura distributed cars and motorcycles to his campaign coordinators and other party officials in the state to assist them go round while campaigning for the party all over the state.
