Chairman of the FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB), Hon. Musa Yahaya Muhammad has commended students, teachers and board staff, whose efforts have brought great honour to FCT Administration.
Muhammad while expressing his delight for the increasing success stories emerging from the schools, immediately directed that, letters of commendations be given to them.
This was against the backdrop of inflow of more laurels from various competitions for the Education Board (having 62 senior secondary schools), which prides itself the pacesetters for other states.
According to the SEB boss, the Board will continue to give maximum support to FCT schools through provision of infrastructure, learning materials,create an enabling and secured learning environment while placing all the victorious schools and students on a priority lists for prompt attention.
He reiterated they have remain committed to the teaching profession and has continue to lay sound and moral academic foundation for the students under their custody.
He urged the students to build on these virtues and become good ambassadors and self reliance, adding economic values to the the society and nation at large.
Also speaking, Ag. Director, SEB, Mrs. Nanre Emeje said, it is heartwarming to see the students especially the girls showcasing their God given abilities in addition to their academics performance.
She encouraged them to keep faith with what they believed in and remain hardworking, committed and useful as the future is very bright for them.
Head of Division, Science,Technology and Mathematics, Hajia Rahmatu Kamar said, the 2018 National School Entrepreneurship Exhibition and Award organised by SAGE Nigeria in collaboration with SMEDAN was keenly contested by 20 different teams from 11 states of the federation including FCT but FCT took the lead through the students presentations on Financial platform project for the IDPs camp by Government Girls Secondary School, Abaji in Social Enterprises Business (SEB) category where they emerged the overall best.
She adds that Government Secondary School, Garki emerged the winner on Plastics interlock and Leather project in Socially Responsible Business (SRB) category as well as rehabilitation centre for Drug Abuse project by Government Secondary School,Gwagwalada.
According to her, it is noteworthy that,this is the first time FCT schools will emerged as the winners in the two keenly contested categories, earning a right to represent Nigeria at the 2018 SAGE World cup competition in Durban,South Africa in August.
