The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Mohammed Bello Umar has inaugurated a committee on collaboration between the Ministry and the Islamic Development Bank.
Dr. Umar urged members of the committee to follow the Ministry’s roadmap already in place by coming up with concept notes on their project on COVID-19.
The committee is to seek support from the Islamic Development Bank in the area of research and development, capacity building and production of Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) against the Covid-19 pandemic.
He urged members of the committee to collate inventions and innovations on COVID-19 developed by the Ministry’s agencies for possible funding and support by the Islamic Development Bank.
Dr. Umar thanked members of the committee for their diligence and patriotism in this period of the pandemic, adding that this window of funding must be leveraged upon to achieve our objectives.
The Permanent Secretary commended the Minister of State, Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi for his efforts in actualizing the collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank.
