Scholar urges Muslim faithful to live by teachings of Qur’an

In order to be good ambassadors of Islam, an Islamic Scholar, Alhaji Sharafudeen Ali-Agan, says Muslim faithful should make sure their actions are not against the teachings and the principles of the Holy Qur’an, during this holy month of Ramadan and beyond.

The scholar, who is the Missioner, Utako Branch of the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), Abuja, said every believer’s actions; whether good or bad matters, as it will be linked to their faith and its principles.

He made this point at during an annual Ramadan lecture at NASFAT Islamic Center, Utako.

“As a Muslim, make sure your actions are not against the teachings and the principles of the Holy Qur’an. Make sure you are not deviating from the ways of Rosullullah (Prophet Muhammed-SAW), if you do anything that brings about uprising, killing, riot and the rest of

them, surely within yourself you know that this is not Islam and if you are doing this, you are misrepresenting Islam.

“You should know anywhere you are that you are an ambassador of Allah, ambassador of Islam, an ambassador of the holy Quran. Whatever you do, they will attach it to your religion, your book and your prophet definitely; so whatever you do must be in accordance with the teachings of the holy Qur’an and sunna of Rosulullah,” he said.

Also, he urged government, leaders of and religious organisations and other Non-Governmental Organisations to do all they could to eradicate poverty in the land.

According to him, “when there is no poverty in the society there will be no problem; an hungry man is an angry man.”
