Saudi Arabia has stopped a cargo plane carrying munitions to Nigeria from Pakistan, Dunya News reported. According to the details, the cargo plane carried tanks and other war equipment to Nigeria for fighting Boko Haram. The equipment was being sent by air instead of being sent by sea only to deliver it quickly to Nigeria but Saudi intelligence stopped the plane.
Nigerian government had asked for help from Pakistan to deal with Boko Haram and Pakistan had decided to send the munitions to Nigeria in response. However, Saudi officials have said that the plane will not be allowed to fly until further orders.
Pakistani and Nigerian officials are in contact with Saudi officials regarding this plane. When Dunya News contacted Foreign Office for further details of the matter, spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said that she had no such information.
