Sardauna Memorial College alumni honours Gen. Dikko, Prof. Adamu

The Sardauna Memorial College Old Boys Association, SAMOBA, the year 1982 set has presented Distinguished Fellow Awards to the Director of Peace Operations in the Defence Headquarters, Major General Abba Mohammed Dikko and Professor Nuhu Bala Adamu of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Maiduguri
The ceremony, which took place at the College premises in Kaduna yesterday, brought together most the year 82 set members who celebrated the 40thanniversary of their admission into the prestigious College.
The Chairman of Kaduna Electric, Barrister Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar who is also the Chairman of the year 82 group described the awardees as “quintessential gentlemen and worthy ambassadors of their Alma Mater who have made tremendous contribution to the development of their chosen career in particular and the nation in general”.
Alhaji Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar also paid glowing tribute to other members of the year 1982 group for their invaluable and positive contributions to the society. He particularly described Colonel Aliyu Ahmed, a member of the group, as “a peace maker, a gallant officer, a committed patriot and an embodiment of excellent leadership who has made enormous sacrifices for the peace of our country and the security of its people”.
He called on members of the year 1982 group and all old boys of Sardauna Memorial College to support their alma mater so that it will continue to remain the pride of all SAMOBAs and the generation unborn. “The experiences of that formative period have helped in shaping our lives and in making us what we are today”, he asserted.
Earlier, the Principal of the College, Alhaji Muhammad Sunusi Sidi commended the untiring efforts and support being given to the College by the old boys. High point of the event was a discussion on life after retirement led by the President SAMOBA 82, Engr. Sharif T. Balogun.
