Following the two-day public holiday as announced by the federal government to mark the Sallah festival, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has extended by three days, until Friday, August 16, 2019, the 50% reduction in the registration fee for business names window, which was earlier stipulated to end effect from 13th August, 2019.
The CAC has registered at least 220,773 MSMEs under the BIS window between October 1, 2018 and July 31st 2019, while the list is said to be increasing steadily.
A statement signed by CAC’s Head, Public Affairs, Mr. Moses Adaguusu said the three day extension is to enable Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that could not register their businesses during the promo because of the Sallah holidays to do so.
Mr. Adaguusu said some of the benefits for business name registration include ownership of corporate accounts with Banks, access to loans, grants and other government interventions.
He urged the public to take advantage of the three-day extension to register their Business Names at the reduced cost of N,5000, adding that registration can be done online or at any of the Commission’s Offices nationwide.
For more information, the public is adviced to visit the CAC’s website: www.cac.gov.ng or call: 09087401598, 09087401599, 09087401600, 08182298971, 08182299016, 08097388192. Or Email: email@example.com
Recall that the federal government had announced an extension between May 13 and August 13, 2019 to enable the public register their business names at the reduced cost of N5,000. It is however not clear if there will be a further extension beyond the August 16 date.
