From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi
A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Bauchi, Alhaji Bashir Bukar Rimin Zayam, has described the sack of President Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ali Ahmed Gulak, as a step in TheEight direction.
He also called for all those aides who are not adding value to the Presidency.
The PDP chieftain, who is also the Assistant Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Bauchi state, stated this while reacting to Gulak’s removal saying that the unguarded utterances by some of Jonathan aides run antithetical to the reconciliation moves in the ruling party ahead of 2015 general elections.
“We need people that are focused and articulate who can build and rebuild the party structures; not those that can destroy or dismantle the party with arrogance” he said.
The PDP chieftain called on President Jonathan to caution his aides who were bent on causing disaffection in various states of the federation.
Bukar advised President Jonathan to caution Labaran Maku or sack him from his administration for unguarded statements. As I always say “Even if a common man leaves PDP, it’s a loss, talk more of serving governors . Abusing them is a disrespect, we have to persuade people and not to castigate them.
“Maku is over stretching his boundary as minister. He is expected to talk on the development of the government not to pour venom on party chieftains and responsible citizens whom he has no business with as they are party executives, ” Bashir cautioned.
