President Muhammadu Buhari alongside Zamfara State Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle and his Gombe and Ekiti States counterparts have departed Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja yesterday to attend a three days Russia-Africa Business Summit in Sochi, Russia.
The Business Summit which will hold on 23rd to 25th October, 2019 will specifically focus on how to explore and expand opportunities on trade and investment, Agriculture, Security as well as technology and solid minerals development.
The Business Summit according to statement by the Director General Press Affairs Government House Gusau, Malam Yusuf Idris, will witness the convergence of world business leaders and tycoons of industries to interact on how to enhance investment in major world economic sectors of Education, Science and Technology, Agriculture, Mining and Steel Development as well as infrastructural development.
The President’s entourage also has the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mr Olamilekan Adegbite, Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr Adeniyi Adebayo, Minister of State Petroleum, Mr Timipre Sylva and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama.
It would be recalled, Governor Matawalle had held a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Alexey L. Shebarshin on 26th August, 2019 at the Russian embassy in Abuja, when the Russian Ambassador promised to partner Zamfara State Government in developing major critical sectors of the State economy with special focus on improving Agriculture, Education, Solid Minerals Development and Exploration as well as Health infrastructural development.
Other Governors on the President’s entourage include, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and Mr Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State respectively.
