The National Women Leader of the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Dr. Funmi Ali Balogun, has charged the state women leader of the RTEAN to always co-operate with the executives of the association.
She also urged state women leader as well as the state coordinators to continue to work for the progress of the association at their respective states.
Balogun, who gave the charge while holding a meeting with the state women leader/coordinators during the celebration of commensuration with the International Women’s Day at the headquarters of RTEAN in Abuja, further pleaded with the state women leader to obey the rules and regulations guiding the association.
She advised the state women leader not to join any association without the instruction of the national president of RTEAN
Her words: “if the state women leader wants to join TUC the instruction must come from the National President of RTEAN not from anybody. We are under the TUC but every organization or RTEAN has its own office. So, don’t allow anybody to deceive you”.
She informed the state women leader that RTEA is not a small association in Nigeria saying that RTEAN was established about forty-one years ago.
RTEAN National Women Leader, however, called on both men and women to shun any act capable of tarnishing the image or the association, and warned them against gossiping/blackmailing.
Speaking during the meeting, the National secretary-general of RTEAN, Comrade Yusuf Ibrahim Adeniyi and the Deputy National President of the association in charge of operations, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, advised women to continue to support the association.
Adeniyi and Sadiq said the National Executive Council (NEC) under the leadership of Alhaji Musa Muhammad would carry the women along in the scheme of things.
