Unknown robbery gang have now resorted to serial raiding and stealing from homes on Sundays, when people worshipped in churches in some towns and villages, in Gwagwalada area council, of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The most recent happened last Sunday (June 29), when three homes where turned upside down by the robbers in search of money and other valuables.in new Kutunku settlement, near Agape area, in Gwagwalada.
One of the victims, Mrs. Anene Omade, said she returned from church only to discover that her home has been ransacked by the notorious and mysterious robbers, who cut their way in through the burglary proof on the window.
She said they made away with her cloths and the cash sum of thousand naira.
According to her, to her shock, she was not alone, as two of her neighbours suffered the same thing as valuables like gold Jewries and money were taken from their homes as well by the robbers.
One Mr Eke John, who lives at quarters, also in Gwagwalada, said it’s now a trick that the unmasked criminals use to carry out their nefarious acts in the area and its adjourning environs.
He noted that those of them (residents) living in quarters face the same problem, saying he hopes the perpetrators of the act are caught soon.
“The robbers wait for their victims (people) to go for church services on Sunday then they strike, almost on a weekly basis”, he said.
