A retired Local Education Authority (LEA) Desk Officer in charge of private school in Suleja local government area of Niger state, Comrade Salihu lawal has been conferred with a distinguished “Visionary Educator Award 2019” by the management of the Orator Communications Limited, the publishers of the Orator weekly newspaper based in Niger state and Abuja.
Performing the award ceremony, the managing editor of the Orator weekly newspaper, Mr. Nasir Oseni, said the award was bestowed on the Desk Officer based on his positive contributions towards the education sector in the area.
He also pointed out that the award was conferred on the retired Desk Officer in order to serve as an avenue for other educators or educationists to emulate the outstanding legacy left behind by the Desk Officer.
Oseni, therefore, said the management of the Orator weekly newspaper would not hesitate to give honours to the personalities who had contributed immensely to the development of their communities.
Speaking after the conferment of the award, the LEA secretary in Suleja local government area, Hajiya Karima Dahiru, described the retired Desk Officer as a committed teacher.
Dahiru used the award ceremony as a forum to advise the teachers to be role model to the younger ones always.
Responding, the recipient of the day, comrade Salihu Lawal, thanked the orator weekly newspaper for the honour done to him.
Meanwhile, some of the LEA staff who spoke during the award ceremony, said the honour done to the retired Desk Officer by the authorities of the Orator Communications limited was a step in the right direction.
