A retired Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Gwagwalada Area Council, justice Mwada Balami, has called on the Federal Government to deem it necessary to provide jobs for the less privileged youths roaming about in the street.
He said if Nigerian youths were employed in the ministries and government agencies, there would be less crimes in the society, asking government of the day to build industries in order to arrest the problems of unemployment facing the country.
Balami, who made the call while speaking with Peoples Daily correspondent during the celebration of Christmas in Gwagwalada, calling on both Muslims and Christians not to fight because of religion.
His words: “Religion is between you and your God. So, do not waste your time in fighting in the name of religion”.
He said: “You cannot get heaven from anybody apart from yourself. Also your wife and son cannot get heaven for you”.
Commenting on the perpetual killings in the country, he charged Nigerians to work hand in hand with the security agencies to arrest the people mastermind crimes in the society today.
Justice Balami then pleaded with the Muslims and Christians to continue to live in peace with one another, noting that both Islam and Christianity preach peace at their respective places of worship.
On the 2019 general elections, the retired judge said he is not a politician and that he was not ready to comment on politics.
“I am not a politician, I will not partake in politics, he said.
