By Osaigbovo Iguobaro, Benin

Senate Deputy Whip, Francis Alimikhena, has asked Edo North senatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Abubakar Momoh, to bury his ambition haven occupied public office for 23 years.
Alimikhena, representing Edo North senatorial district in Edo State, urged him to quit politics and allow young politicians to realise their future ambitions. The advice was given yesterday in a statement by Mr. Benjamin Atu, the Media aide to the legislator, who is seeking re-election on the platform of All Progress Congress (APC).
He accused the PDP of being on the wrong side of history, saying Abubakar’s sojourn in public office began as a elected Counsellor in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State during the military regime of Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (Rtd).
He said his last position was as an elected member of House of Representatives representing Etsako Federal Constituency between 2011 and 2015.
Atu, in the statement which was made available to newsmen in Benin City, said “The people of Etsako Community and Afemai land are tired of politicians who have never voted for others, but always seeking the vote of the people.
According to him, “Hon. Momoh, who is the PDP candidate for Edo North 2019 election has been a Councillor, Local Government Chairman, Member of the State House of Assembly and a former member representing Etsako Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
“How can a man be so selfish and self seeking? Afemai people have constantly voted for Hon Momoh in different political platforms without any project to his credit”, the statement said.
