Over 300 Women have been trained by the National Directorate of Employment, (NDE), in collaboration with the House of Representative member for Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, Godday Samuel.
Benue State Coordinator of NDE Musa Sadauki said the training is part of the mandate of the Directorate to create employment, adding that it is meant to create wealth and eradicate poverty.
Represented by the Head of Department, Vocational Skills Department Mrs Hilda Lawani commended the partnership of the House of Representative member with NDE to alleviate poverty amongst his constituents, stating that they are ever ready to collaborate with well meaning individuals or organizations to improve the lives of the people.
On her part as Head of Vocational Skills where the program is domiciled, Mrs. Hilda Lawani explained that the 300 women trained in Cosmetology were given starter packs and cash component of 5,000 naira each.
She advised the beneficiaries to utilize the training to improve on their wellbeing and also, become employers of labor.
House of Representative member for Apa/Agatu Hon. Godday Samuel who was represented by his legislative aide Ekah Musa Bernard appealed to the beneficiaries to make maximum use of the training and the kits given to them so as to better their lives.
