As Nigerians joined their counterparts all over the world in the celebration of this year’s Easter, the Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abdullahi Adamu Candido has called for continuous pray for growth and stability of the country.
Candido, in his message to Christian faithful in the Area Council on the occasion of the 2021 Easter celebrations, urged Nigerians irrespective of religious, ethnic and political affiliations to be patriotic to the quest for oneness.
He particularly called on all Christians to use the period to reflect on the true meaning of Easter, and the sacrifice that has been made out of love for humanity by Jesus Christ.
He said they should therefore emulate Jesus Christ by exhibiting His sacrificial love to one another, while calling on all Nigerians to shun violence and embrace peace during this period and beyond.
“I wish to felicitate with all Christian faithfuls in the Council on this occasion of Easter celebration marking the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“Let us shun violence and hatred among ourselves, embrace peace and unity as we celebrate this remarkable event in Christiandom.
“I urged all Nigerians both Christians and Muslims alike to continue to pray for the growth and stability of this country and be patriotic to our national oneness,” the AMAC Boss stated.
