Religious leader tasks politicians on selfless service

The Leader in charge of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja, Deaconess Deborah Amao has called on newly elected political office holders to work towards restoring the lost glory of Nigeria, by remaining selfless in discharging their duties.
Deaconess Amao described corruption and selfish ambition of politicians as major factor responsible for the slow pace of the nation’s development.
She made this point while speaking with newsmen on the forthcoming 2019 Annual Revival Programme of the Church in Abuja.
According to her, Nigeria is blessed with abundant human and natural resources needed to turn the fortune of the country for greatness.
She added that the annual revival lrogramme of the Church would be used to pray for the progress and continuous peaceful coexistence of the country.
Speaking on the theme of the Annual Revival Programme tagged “My Hour of Restoration”, the Chairman Evangelism Committee of the Church, Deacon Victor Asade said the five days revival which would commence in the first week of next month is aimed at reawakening the consciousness of Christians towards restoration.
Asade explained that the Revivalist, Reverend Suleiman Ajibola who is a converted Muslim from Niger Republic and now a Residence Pastor of Idi Oro Baptist Church, Saki, Oyo State would used the period to sensitize Christians on the need to always pray for restoration of their lost glory, admonishing to be steadfast in faith and prayers in all their endeavour to ensure divine breakthrough.
The Chairman of the Evangelism Committee also advised Christians to always contribute their quota to national peace and development.
