Ramadan: We have beefed up security in Lagos – PPRO

The Lagos state Police Command has reiterated its resolve to improve on the feat it performed during the last Christmas and other festive periods during this year’s Ramadan festival.

The Command resolve was made public when its Image maker Ngozi Braide briefed newsmen at her Government Reserve Area office in Ikeja.

Ngozi revealed that institutions like Banks, Schools and event centers will be adequately manned by both under covers and men in uniform during the festive periods, stressing that though the command is not envisaging any tragic occurrence, but it has nevertheless put in place adequate preparation to forestall any ugly incident.

“We are assuring Lagosians that the Lagos State Police Command will want to repeat the crime free situation they experienced during the past yuletide and so security men posted to business, events centers will be backed up by motorized patrol vehicles”, Ngozi noted.

She appealed to Lagosians to desist from the act of dispensing jungle justice on suspected persons, debunking Newspapers report (not People’s Daily) that kidnapers hide-out were human skulls and bones were allegedly recovered by the Police has been uncovered in the Maijedun area of Ikorodu on the outskirt of Lagos, rather she said there were no iota of truth in the said story ,noting however, that the suspect who was alleged to have been seen with a toddler neatly concealed in her bag has been confirmed by Nuero- Psychiatric Doctors from the Yaba Nuero- Psychiatric Hospital to be of unstable mind.

She disclosedthat the police have sent the case file to the DPP for legal advice and that as soon as the report is ready the suspect would be arraigned in court.
