From Mustapha Adamu, Kano
The Chairman House of Representative Committee on Governmental Affairs and the Bureau for Public Service Reforms (BPRS), Akin Alabi said the concept of reforms is synonymous with the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Alabi stated this yesterday at a three-day Stakeholders Conference on Public Service Reforms in Kano.
According to him, the main objective of the conference is to ensure quality service delivery, proper coordination and full implementation of reform initiatives in the Nigerian public service.
He noted that, reform is an Inevitable change the country needs to achieve the desired change and progress.
On his part, Prof. Akinbola Bello, a former development expert with the European Union (EU), noted that true reforms must assign to the various agencies and parastatals.
He added that their proper role is to avoid a situation of conflict of interest and agencies’ rivalry as sometimes witnessed in public institutions.
Our correspondent reports that the theme of the conference is ‘Transmitting from the old administration to the new Public Service’.
