The Principal of Junior Secondary School Zuba, in Gwagwaada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Abdulkarim Abdulrahman as well as the Principal of Junior Secondary School Gwako in Gwagwalada Area Council, Mrs Joyce Oborokumo have celebrated culture/inter-house sports competition.
In his speech at the occasion, Alhaji Abdulkarim Abdulrahman described culture as the total way of life. He said: “The event of today is about commemorating our cultural heritage for its preservation for posterity and with the view of respecting and appreciating each other culture for unity and harmonious togetherness”
Abdulrahman, who is the FCT ANCOPSS President , however, called on the staff, students as well as guests to be proud of their culture always.
At the end of the cultural competition, the Yoruba cultural troop took the 1st position, the 2nd position went to Gbagyi cultural troop while the Igbo cultural troop maintained the 3rd position.
On her part, Mrs Joyce Oborokumo, urged the FCT Administration to provide sporting equipment in the school for the benefit of students.
She also pleaded for the provision of facilities for volleyball, handball and basket games in order to enable the students to compete favourably in sporting activities.
Oborokumo, therefore, used the occasion to appeal to FCT Administration to provide a water tank in the school in the interest of students.
At the end of inter-house sports competition, Red House took the 1st position, the Blue House maintained the 2nd position while the 3rd position went to Green House.
The ceremony was attended by the officials of the Universal Basic Education Board and other guests.
