The North East Youth Progressive Forum (NEYPF) has endorsed the governor of Kano State, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as its proposed presidential candidate come 2015, describing him as “a man of purpose and foresight”
The National Coordinator of (NEYPF), Mohammed Salisu, flanked by the Bauchi State Chairman of the group, Comrade Aliyu Ladan, and the Secretary, Alhaji Aliyu Shehu, disclosed this at a press conference held at Zaranda Hotel, Bauchi yesterday.
According to him, the Kano state governor is the solution to the current problems plaguing the country.
“Therefore, we unanimously adopt Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso due to his effort and contribution made towards the total transformation of Kano State as one of the most populated states in the country; also his efforts in the execution of hundreds of developmental projects that have had a direct bearing on the lives of the people of Kano and Nigerians” he said.
Salisu said that Kwankwaso was “a mentor of men and women, a dynamic Nigerian, an advocate for justice, a consummate administrator and master strategist.”
On the current situation in the country, the NEYPF National Coordinator advised Nigerians to vote leaders like Kwankwaso who are patriotic leaders, competent, focused, with vision and credibility to take Nigeria to the promise land.
He pointed out that “Presently, Nigeria is the worst country in the whole of West African in terms of poor leadership which leads to high level of unemployment despite the huge resources in almost every nook and cranny of the country.”
Mohammed lamented further that the country is plagued by “corruption, instability in the polity, poverty, maladministration, educational backwardness, inflation, hardship and above all the prevailing insecurity in the country which have resulted in the deaths of many innocent Nigerians and loss of property worth billions of naira”
According to him, the solution to the country’s current challenges lie in having a focused, competent, honest, hard working , dedicated and responsible leader to be given the opportunity and chance to transform and revive its past glory.
