The minister of FCT, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has called on the youth to be more innovative in their various areas of endeavour to build better future for themselves and the society.
Bello noted that with innovation especially in area of Information Communication Technology (ICT) will assist the younger generation create employment, rather than be employment seekers.
He made the call at the graduation ceremony of 600 beneficiaries of the UNESCO-FCTA youthmobile empowerment project held recently, at the FCDA auditorium, in Area 11.
The Minister called on the youth to put in place the knowledge they acquired, thereby contributing their quota towards ensuring that the future better than today.
He said the administration was proud of working with UNESCO to better the living condition of the youths.
Bello however sought for the UNESCO support to start phase three of the programme by focusing on reviewing the performance of the children.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Regional Director of UNESCO, Yao Ydo, said the joint partnership, which started in June 2017 has youth drawn from all the six area councils of FCT.
He said UNESCO collaborated with FCTA to leverage on ICT development for youth, which focuses on bringing up people in the economic scale.
The UNESCO secribe urged the FCTA to make the programme an annual one that the youth will be trained on information technology, calling on other stakeholders to support UNESCO do more for the people.
