Following series of suicide bomb attacks within two weeks that has killed so many people in Potiskum town in Yobe state, citizens, especially the youths are growing out of patience and tune, apprehensive of the military’s inability to tackle the continuous insurgents attack that has killed thousands of people in the state.
Speaking to our reporter in his palace yesterday, the Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Chiefs, Dr. Muhammadu Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrissa, expressed his sad feelings and those of the residents, families of those who lost their lives and the injured ones and how people planned a demonstration in the town but that his intervention stopped the plan.
The royal father went on to reveal that the residents and families of those who lost their lives and the injured were now very apprehensive of what happened, and how they were planning a demonstration.
“But we have appealed and continued appealing for calm; they should take it as the will of Allah. We have discussed with the commissioner of police and the authorities to see how this thing will not happen again. It is very sad that these things were happening that over the past three months many people have lost their lives. People are wondering if there is any security,” he stated further.
He, however, pointed out that they have talked to the authorities and are now waiting to see what will happen.
“So we are appealing to people for calm and also for Allah’s protection to see that this thing does not happen again,” he prayed.
