Polls postponement: Tiv group urges Nigerians to re-elect Buhari

A group known as Tiv Youth Council, TYC has viewed with interest the good performance of the present government and urged Nigerians to re-elect President Muhammadu Buhari during the rescheduled Presidential election on February 23rd, 2019.
The group made the call at a press conference held yesterday in Makurdi, observing that the performance of the government in the area of road construction, Aviation, Railway resuscitation, and Youth empowerment especially the N-Power initiatives and the Agricultural Revolution, averring too that Nigeria’s international reputation has been strengthened.
President of TYC, Mike Msuuan said they have mandated all their 23 LGAs Coordinators and Zonal officers to massively mobilize for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari, this Saturday.
“We believe that the arrangements of power shift between the two(2) regions of the country, North and South, is good for national cohesion. We believe that any change from the person of the present Northern candidate of President Muhammadu Buhari to a different Northern candidate, will alter the arrangement because should there be a change mistakenly, the PDP candidate may wish to exercise his constitutional right of two(2) terms of office.
“In order that this our resolve will be realize, we have mandated our structures across the North to vote out selfish and corrupt politicians from office, this is to sanitize our State Governments, National Assembly and State Assembly to enhance good governance and strengthen our democratic institutions. The State and Zonal Coordinators are advised to look out for credible candidates for our support and vote.
“In the spirit of oneness and for the peaceful existence of our dear country Nigeria, we wish to call on all Nigerians to be our brothers keepers and avoid making inflammatory comments. All forms of agitations should be constructive and follow constitutional channels.
“We should cooperate with the government for the provisions of security of our lives and properties and provision of basic amenities to better our means of livelihood, which should be our collective demand from government as a right. We are one people with a common destiny, we should learn to embrace one another in love, peace and unity. We urge INEC to be firm and ensure free, fair and credible election.
