The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has concluded plans to sensitise all relevant stakeholders in the six- geopolitical zones on the need to ensure a peaceful conduct of the polls.
The stakeholders include; Religious leaders, Traditional rulers, Road Transport Workers (NURTW/Okada Riders Association ), Women groups/ Market Women Association, youth groups and students, among others.
The Corps, Commandant General, Prof, Ade Abulorin who was represented by DCG Administration, Engr. Bello Suleiman, made this known yesterday in a chat with newsmen in Abuja.
Abolurin, said the meetings are to take place between Wednesday 21st January to Thursday 5th February, 2015 in Oyo, Rivers, Abuja, Kaduna and Plateau States.
He added that his agency had set a target to help achieve a violence free election apart from the resolve to partner with other relevant security agencies.
The CG said the corps has since embarked on series of workshops for peace advocacy to ensure re-orientation of political actors, electorates, as well as Corps Members.
