Police warn Kaduna residents against mob action

The Kaduna State Police Command hase vowed to deal decisively with any citizen that take the law into his or her hands.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo, gave the warning while reacting to mob actions that led to the death of two people in Kaduna yesterday.
According to him, the mobs reacted to false alarm raised by one Alhaji Musa then descended on the suspected Kidnappers without any evidence.
He explained that, Aljaji Musa who deals in oil business has a problem with one of his business partner in and was reported to the Lagos State Police command, he was invited and later detained.
“From information available to us, his friend went to secure his bail and he was released to them and they became his Sureties, after appearing to the Police on two occasions he disappeared.
“The sureties were later invited and asked to produce him, it was then that they informed the Police that they knows his resident in Kaduna, and they promised to take the Police there.
“When they arrived Kaduna, they went straight to his house, while the Police wait at a distance.
When he sighted them, he sensed their mission and quickly jumped into his car and speed off.
“The Sureties followed him in their own car and blocked him before Kawo flyover bridge, he jumped out of his car and raised false alarm that people running after him are Kidnappers.
“You know that Kawo flyover is a flash point, before you know the Mobs descended on the Sureties believing that they are Kidnappers, that is when we got the distressed call and we moved straight to the spot, we were able to rescue three sureties but the driver was burnt alongside with the vehicle.
“In the process the Suspect Alhaj Musa escaped, and we are doing everything now to track him down,” he said
DSP Yakubu added that, three people were killed in the unfortunate incident ,but the situation in Kawo is calm and under control while the three Sureties are under Police protection.
He vowed that the Police will track down the fleeing Alhaji Musa.
