Police parades suspected robbers, others in Jigawa

The Jigawa state police command has yesterday paraded suspected arm robbers, thieves and other criminals terrorizing the state.
Parading the suspects, the Police public relations officer SP Abdul Jinjiri said, the success of making Jigawa peaceful state was achieved due to the support and cooperation given to police by both press men and entire people in the state.
He explained that, on 28th February, 2020 at about 2300hrs a case of arm robbery was reported to their Babura division that a 50 years old Bashari Audu was attacked by arm robbers on his way back from Yankirya market and the sum of N50,000 was taken away from him by two armed men.
“Fortunately enough, he identified one Bala Haruna of Gangara village as one of the armed robbers that attacked him. In this regard, the police went after the suspect and arrested him, while the case is still under investigation as effort intensified to arrest the other suspects,” he said.
According SP Jinjiri, on 13th February,2020 police in Jahun local government received a distress call that a gang of armed men numbering about seven have invaded the house of one Alhaji Aminu Umar Aujara and robbed him of unspecified amount of money, GSM among other properties.
He said, the police patrol team swiftly dispatched to the area, on arrival the hoodlums have fled to unknown destination adding that police blocked all the entrances and the exit of the town.
SP Jinjiri maintained that, when the police mounted aggressive patrols, stop and search, one of the patrol teams accosted the suspected armed robbers trying to escape, hence gun duel ensued between the police and the hoodlums and finally one Abdullahi Musa was arrested.
He said, another suspect Madugu Ya’u of Guwa village Birniwa local government was arrested at Kirikasamma market for unlawful possession of firearms and attempt to commit offences.
