He said the men cut across all sectors of policing, consisting of traffic, intelligence, stop and search, motorised and foot patrol, among others.
He said, “The commissioner of police has released the operation order. A total of 5, 191 personnel will be deployed for the Christmas and the New Year celebrations.
“We are working with other security agencies to forestall any incident, before, during or after the festive seasons.
“The CP urged the residents to report any suspicious movement or activity to the appropriate authorities nearest to them.”
On his own part, the spokesman for the NSCDC, Mr. Kareem Olanrewaju, said the deployment was to strengthen the security in the state and complement the effort of the police during the Yuletide.
The officers, he said, were drawn from all the divisional offices of the command and they would be on special duty throughout the period to provide additional security for lives and property.
