Police nab five, recover Zamfara govt stolen vehicle in Bauchi

Police, in Bauchi, has nabbed five persons suspected to connive in stealing vehicle, a White Toyota Hilux, with registration number ZM 01-A13, belonging to the Zamfara state ministry of water resources, from the suspected thief, one Dahiru Aminu, of Igbo Quarters Bauchi.

The Bauchi state Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed disclosed this to newsmen in Bauchi on Thursday, said the suspect has allegedly stolen the vehicle from the compound of one Abdullahi Auta, of Rijiyar Gabas, Tudun Wada ward, in Zamfara state.

He said the suspect has been arrested along with other accomplices Kawule Ahmed of Magaji Quarters, Bauchi who allegedly conspired with the suspected thief and painted the inscription on the vehicle to conceal its identity while Adamu Aliyu of the Bauchi state board of internal revenue has allegedly forged vehicle particulars for the stolen Hilux.

Other arrested accomplices according to the police spokesman were Mohammed Zayyanu of GRA, Zamfara and Aminu Wada of Diamond Bank Gusau, Zamfara state even as he added that the police have also recovered two plate numbers, bunch of keys for Toyota Hilux, mechanical tools and two cutlasses from the stolen car.

Muhammed who stated that efforts were being intensified to apprehend other accomplices promised that all the suspects would be handed over to the Zamfara state police command for further investigation and prosecution.
