he Police in Bauchi has nabbed four robbery suspects who specialised in blocking Bauchi-Alkaleri Gombe highway and robbing motorists plying the route at night.
A press statement signed by the state’s Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Haruna Mohammed, made available to journalists in Bauchi yesterday, said that five fabricated riffles, one cutlass, some cartridges, four handsets, assorted charms among others, were recovered from the suspected highway robbers.
The suspects, according to Mohammed, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), were: Idi Bala, alias Malam Baba (40-year- old); Abubakar Usman (35-year-old); Iliyasu Mal Yusuf (28-year-old) and 20-year-old Bappa Abubakar.
He added that all the suspects were from Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi state.
The Police spokesman said that the Police had since commenced investigation into the matter, adding that, “the Command urge members of the public not to relent in providing useful information that may assist the police in making the state safe and secured.
