Police nab 2 suspected armed robbers in Gombe

The Gombe state Police Command said they arrested two suspected armed robbers in Gombe metropolis.

Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Fwaje Atajiri made the disclosure on Wednesday, in Gombe, while briefing newsmen in his office.

While parading the suspects before newsmen, the Police spokesman said the suspected armed robbers were arrested along bye-pass road in Gombe.

According to him, the Police who were on a routine patrol in the area were able to arrest the suspects with AK47 riffle, and 27 lives ammunition.

Our correspondent revealed that the suspects who’s names was given as Gambo Usman was said to have travelled from Taraba state to Gombe in order to connived with his friend Abubakar Atiku before they ran out of luck.

Meanwhile, Gombe state police command paraded two Immigration officers who specialist in duping public with fake recruitment exercise, noting that the two officers were said to have collected money from the public ranging from fifty to one hundred and twenty naira for employment in the Immigration service.

According to the PPRO, the officers were arrested based on intelligent report by the public in the area and that the police swung into action and apprehended two officers connected to the crime.

The names of the two Immigration officers was given to newsmen as Clement Suleiman and Saidu Lodo.The police said Clement Suleiman served with Immigration service, Borno state command while Saidu Lodo served with the Immigration service Gombe state command.

The police, however, said its command is ready to deal with anyone who wants to disrupt the peace of the public, adding that it is the responsibility of the police to protect life and property of its citizens.

He called on the public to report any suspicious movement to the police in their vicinity.
