Police kill robbery suspect in Delta

The Police detectives attached to Ogwashi Uku Police Division on Monday evening killed a robbery suspect in a gun duel while four Others Sustained Fatal Injuries .
Police Commissioner in the state, Adeleke Adeyinka who confirmed this to Journalists on Tuesday in Asaba at a media briefing, said that the suspect was killed around Otulu satellite town in Ogwashi Uku Kingdom, adding that the suspect among four of his gang members were robbing a Community leader from across the Niger whose name was given as Omerora Akune when the detectives acted on distress call
They were said to have engaged the robbery suspects in gun battle and succeeded in killing one of them, while others sustained fatal injuries and escaped with bullet wonds as the police recovered their guns
The community leader and his wife were shot but fortunately survived the attack when luck ran out of the robbery suspects were reported to have arrived with peagout 406 car the surviving suspects zoomed away with but the Police boss explained that the police were on the trail of the fleeing suspects.
Adeyinka said:” we are on the trail of the fleeing suspects and the killed one has been disposed and the recovered guns from the suspects including charms ,we will not relent in doing our beat to ensure that the state is completely rid off of all criminal activities”
Meanwhile, in a move to find a lasting solution to herders and Farmers clashes in Ogwashi Uku Community,a stakeholders meeting was at the weekend convened by Ogwashi Uku Development Association ( ODA).
The president of the association, Rev John Okolie said the activities of the herders within the community have taken negative toll on the Community, adding that his association has over times been inuadated with Complaints from Farmers in the community Over the consistent and wanton destruction of their farm Crops by herders.
