Kaduna state Police Command yesterday commenced investigation into the circumstance leading to the death of a pharmacist (name withheld), who was found stone dead inside a culvert close to his house.
A police officer from Malali division, who led other team of investigators to the scene, Asha Awuce in Angwan-Gado village of Kaduna-North local government area of the state, said it is too early to conclude the cause of death of the late Pharmacist.
“A resident in the area called our (police) station around 8 am yesterday morning to inform us that a man was lying inside the culvert, suspected to be dead. Our team of patrol rushed to the area and discovered that the deceased lived a stone throw from the area and was popularly known as ‘Baba Bobby’.”
A police officer, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said the family of the deceased have been invited by the police for questioning.
Findings however showed that the deceased, who run a pharmacy store at Malali village, close to the popular ‘United Nation’ hotel, usually returned home around 9:30-10 pm; but that on the unfortunate day, he did not come back home as expected. It was also gathered that the deceased was found in the early hours of yesterday by passers-by.
A source close to the family of the late Baba Bobby told this reporter that the late pharmacist was an asthmatic patient who must have had an attack on his way home which resulted into his falling into the culvert.
Meanwhile the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at St. Gerald Hospital in Kaduna.
